Food for fresh and healthy teeth

Who wants healthy and white teeth? Glittering smile instantly attracts and it’s a signal for good oral health.
Regular visits to the dentist and toothbrushing is essential for healthy teeth, but food consumed plays a role in maintaining dental hygiene. While some foods are destroying your teeth, there are other foods with power to clean teeth, kill bacteria in the oral cavity and protects against caries. Here they are, the kitchen products that are the best friends of your smile:

Dairy products

are an excellent food for bones and teeth. Milk and yogurt are rich in calcium and phosphorus, minerals that prevent the process of demineralisation (dissolution of the tooth enamel). Yogurt reduces the presence of bad bacteria in the mouth.Want to protect teeth from cavities? Eat a piece of cheese after a meal. Cheese protects the enamel of the teeth and stabilizes the pH value in the mouth. While eating cheese the mouth secretes more saliva which washes bacteria that cause cavities and gum disease.

Tip: Whenever you drink wine or beer, do it with cheese appetizers, to neutralize the acids that harm the outer protective layer of the teeth. 

 

Carrot and sweet potato

Orange vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes are rich in beta carotene (vitamin A), which helps the formation of healthy bones, teeth and gums.
Nibbling carrots additionally stimulates the secretion of saliva, which is a great way for washing bacteria and acids.

Celery

Dark chocolate (cocoa)

As a kids, they taught us that chocolate is harmful to teeth. And it is not far from the truth, but only when it comes to ordinary milk chocolate with ample sugars. On the other hand, the dark chocolate that contains 70% cocoa improves dental health, because chocolate contains substances that reduce inflammation and they protect against erosion and decay.
